Review: sizing differences between Green Bees, Oui Oui, and Alva Baby cloth diapers

I have heard many times, "Oui Oui Cloth Diapers (or Green Bees) are just Alva Baby diapers with another label slapped one them." I have also heard, "Green Bee's and Oui Oui's are the exact same diaper, just different labels." So, I decided to compare the three. In the following review, I am comparing a star print Green Bee, a camo print Oui Oui Cloth Diaper, and a Christmas print Alva Baby.

Right off the bat, just laying the diapers down, you can see a difference in size.

This is the front panel. The Green Bee is significantly smaller than the other two brands. The rise is much higher on the front of the Green Bee diaper.

The Alva Baby diaper is 11" across the front.

The Oui Oui is 10.5" across the front.

The Green Bee is 10.25" across the front.

The Green Bee has the smallest wing.

The wing on the Alva Baby is 3".

The wing on the Oui Oui is also 3".

The wing on the Green Bee is 2".

The pocket opening on the diapers are similar in the Alva and the Oui Oui in that they are even with the back of the diaper and have elastic. The Green Bee pocket opening is a little further down and has an inside flap.

The length of the openings for the pocket are the same on the Alva and Green Bee. The Oui OUi pocket opening is an inch smaller.

5" on the Alva

4" on the Oui Oui

5" on the Green Bee

Pocket width is different on each diaper.

6.25" on the Alva Baby

5.5" on the Oui Oui

 6.75" on the Green Bee

Leg elastic length

 6" on the Alva

 4.5" on the Oui Oui

 6" on the Green Bee

Waist tabs

 2.75" on the Alva

3" on the Oui Oui
 2.75" on the Green Bee

As you can see, there is enough differences between the Alva Baby and the Oui Oui Cloth Diaper and Green Bee that we know they are not Alvas with another label put on them.  All three of these diapers are considered one size and have an adjustable rise. Depending on your baby's shape, one of these diapers will fit better.

My baby fits the Oui Oui diapers best. This is because he has itty bitty hips and the smaller waist on the Oui Oui helps to prevent leaks. The Green Bees fit great around his legs, but leak out of the hip area because we cannot get a good fit there. I have not tried the Alva on him.

My toddler can wear both the Oui Oui and the Green Bee diapers equally. I do not get leaks with either on him. He is more proportionate between his thighs, hips, and waist than my baby is.

What is comes down to is try all three. Find the one that fits your baby the best and go with that one. I will give a plug to Oui Oui Cloth Diapers and Green Bees in that they are local mama's to where I live and both have excellent customer service. Alva's are being bought off of a website and shipping directly from China.
